That Shimmering Rainbow Stuff

You know, the thing in Rarity Takes Manehattan and the thing in Rainbow Falls. There has to be some significance to that, it's happened twice now so it's not just the writers messing with us. Are they the keys to that box at the end of the premiere? That's what I think they are, but I might be wrong. It seems likely, but then what's with the connection to rainbows? What will the other keys look like, how will the other four earn theirs?

Actually if you notice, it's happened in almost every episode this season. o: I'm not sure what they are, but there's no doubt it has something to do with the box and the EoH. If you remember, in the S1 opener, the beam Twilight shoots at NMM is a rainbow.

I don't remember seeing it except for Rarity Takes Manehattan and Rainbow Falls, and if it did it certainly didn't have the same significance.

Only things I remember that might come up again, besides the rainbow items. Is the "Shadow Ponies" in Castle Mane-ia. Fluttershy still has her bat tooth. Maybe the enchanted comic book. All of those things got a little "Hey lookie here" at the end like the others. Of course the upcoming episodes may show that all that stuff is just red herrings.
